What if I registered for the Winter Little Dribblers Camp that was postponed, do I need to register again?

No.  Your registration will carry over to the Summer Little Dribblers camp.  If you requested a refund and would like to attend, then you'll need to re-register.  If you did not register for the Winter camp and would like to attend, then you'll need to register.

Now that the camp is in the summer, should my kid attend the time slot for their 2021/2022 school year grade or their 2022/2023 school year grade?

As this is our transitional year for offering a Summer camp, grades will be based off of the 2021/2022 school year.  If you are registering for the first time, please use the grade your child was in at the end of this current school year.

Transitional year?  Does that mean Little Dribblers will no longer be offered in the Winter?

Moving the camp to July was based on many factors, most importantly, the safety of the kids and rising COVID numbers.  As mentioned before, the camp is always evolving.  Depending on demand and overall feedback, we may consider offering Little Dribbler camps twice a year (Winter & Summer).

Will the Summer Little Dribblers camp be the same format as the past Little Dribblers camps?

Yes and no.  We are making some changes to the formatting to better serve the kids.  This camp will continue to evolve over the years as the needs of the kids also evolve.

What's with the change in grade brackets?

The change is to align with other Glencoe Youth Sports (for example, baseball and football).  The intent is to create additional consistency for the kids when playing multiple sports throughout the year.

I volunteered to help the Winter camp, how do I update my availability?

To update your availability, please use the Little Dribblers Volunteer Availability Update Form.

Little Dribblers Moved to July

Two weeks ago we made the difficult decision to delay Little Dribblers due to the impact COVID-19 was having on our community.  Since then, we have continued to monitor case numbers at the state and local levels.  Unfortunately, we have not seen the dramatic decrease in cases that we were all hoping for.  The health and safety of our players and volunteers is our highest priority and therefore we have made the decision to postpone Little Dribblers until early-July.  This was not an easy decision as many of us on the Board have children in the program that were looking forward to playing basketball this winter.

As always, we remain committed to our community and to providing basketball opportunities for our K-4th graders.  More details will be shared in May about timing and how to update your volunteer information.

Similar to the first date change, no action is needed if you wish to have your child participate in July.  If you would like to request a refund, please contact Andrew (

2021 - 2022 SEASON UPDATE

Glencoe Youth Basketball 2020

Glencoe Youth Basketball 2020

September 13, 2021

Hello Glencoe Youth Basketball Families!

I am excited to announce that we will be having a full, regular season this year for our basketball program. This means we will have our Glencoe Select Teams, grades 5th thru 8th, and Little Dribblers this year.

We will be sending out registration links this week for both of these programs.

Some key dates to keep in mind:

  • Coaches need to apply by the end of September to coach one of our Select Teams. We need coaches to apply, even if they have coached in previous seasons. Application to be sent this week.

  • We plan on running a Fall Skills Camp again, which our high school coaches will run. This is planned to start on Sunday, October 10th.

  • Tryouts for the girls and boys Glencoe Youth Basketball Select Teams will be the week of November 1st.

  • Little Dribblers will start in January 2022.

As a Board of Directors, we are still working through some logistics with programs like Little Dribblers, as we want to support as many families and kids as we can, while doing so in a fun, safe way.

Please be on the lookout for more information coming out soon.

Roll Tide!

GYB Secures Grant Funding to close participation Gap between Boys/Girls

Glencoe Youth Basketball, in partnership with the Hillsboro School District, secured grant funding to provide introductory basketball skills in a fun and active program at several of Hillsboro's lower socioeconomic schools. Participants in the programming will be provided opportunities to also join Little Dribblers during 2020 programming. The goal is to provide more exposure to basketball to more females in order to close the participation gap between males and females in Glencoe Basketball and in Hillsboro.
